INNOVACIÓN Y EXPORTACIONES EN LA ARGENTINA. UN ANÁLISIS DEL COMPORTAMIENTO DE LAS EMPRESAS INDUSTRIALES EN EL MARCO DE UN CAMBIO DE RÉGIMEN MACROECONÓMICO

Resumen

RESUMEN Este trabajo analiza la vinculación entre las estrategias de innovación tecnológica adoptadas por las empresas industriales argentinas y sus capacidades exportadoras entre 1998 y 2005. A partir de una serie de estimaciones econométricas realizadas sobre un panel de unas 2000 empresas, se encuentra que la innovación tuvo efectos positivos en materia exportadora. El desempeño exportador de las firmas no solo mejoró de forma contemporánea a sus decisiones de innovación sino que también se observa un impacto positivo rezagado de las inversiones en innovación realizadas durante 1998-2001 en las capacidades exportadoras observadas tras el cambio de régimen macroeconómico. Palabras clave: innovación; exportaciones; empresas industriales; Argentina ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to analyze the relation between the strategies of technological innovation adopted by Argentine manufacturing companies and their export performance in 1998-2005. The results of econometric analysis from a panel data of about 2000 firms found that innovation had positive effects on exports. Export performance of firms not only improved contemporaneously with their innovation decisions but it is also possible to find a lagging positive impact of the investment in innovation during 1998-2001 on the export capabilities observed after the change in the Argentine macroeconomic regime.
