Bibliometric research of the beauty and consumers topics
Abstract
The study seeks to shed light on the existing literature in reference to the beauty sector and its consumers. In order to carry out this study, a bibliometric analysis of the articles provided by the Web of Science Core Collection database has been conducted, allowing the data and values of the different articles to be grouped. The analysis shows different results: in recent years there has been an exponential increase in the number of articles published on this subject, and the number of citations has been increasing over time. The articles have been written by institutions of great prestige and from different countries, with the presence of England, the United States and China standing out. The scientific mapping provides future lines of research related to the subject, the academic articles related to beauty and the actors of audiovisual communication is growing, the study of brand development and consumption methodologies by users of these products and marketing campaigns oriented to new technologies in the world of beauty.
