BERNOULLI, DE MOIVRE, BAYES, PRICE Y LOS FUNDAMENTOS DE LA INFERENCIA INDUCTIVA

Resumen

Si bien la demostración Bernoulliana del principio intuitivo de que la incertidumbre disminuía en la medida que se incrementaba el número de observaciones y la cuantificación de dicho proceso de aprendizaje obtenida por de Moivre fueron los intentos más importantes, la solución del problema de las causas sólo se obtuvo cuando Price, a partir de la generalización del teorema de Bayes, logró ampliar los alcances de la teoría matemática de la probabilidad como argumento para fundamentar una teoría rigurosa de la inferencia inductiva y refutar el escepticismo de Hume. Abstract The proof of the intuitive principle that states that uncertainty decreases as the number of observations increases and the quantification of the learning process were obtained by de Moivre. However, the solution to the problem of the causes was obtained only when Price, from the generalized Bayes theorem, succeeded in broadening the scope of the mathematical theory of probability as an argument to support a rigorous theory of inductive inference and refute Hume's skepticism.
