Thucydides' trap. Or the dynamics of an ongoing collision between the US and the PRC

Keywords: Thucydides, USA, People's Republic of China

Abstract

The rise of the People's Republic of China and the dispute for economic hegemony, on a global scale, raise the question about the effects of the emergence of the Asian giant as a superpower. This interrogation challenges not only Western development models, but also Western ideals of Democracy, Individual Rights and freedom.
